Update
We're very pleased to say that Best is still doing well in Maryland. His owners bought another horse (I believe it is a Standardbred but am not 100% sure) to drive with him in a pair. They're looking forward to all that 2017 brings!
Best is a wonderful horse. Unfortunately our attempt to pair him with another standardbred didn't work out... not his fault. the new standardbred simply wasn't able to pull the weight because of an old injury so she went back to NY hopefully to find a riding home. 2017 was a tough year for us and and the horses didn't do much. This spring I felt that Best was just too nice of a horse to stand around! I had a good friend looking for a horse and Best was a perfect match. Best went down the road about 15 miles and has a fabulous home. He is there as a free leash with agreement he would come back to me if ever he needed a home. My friend absolutely loves him, and he gets a lot of attention and good brushing everyday;-) He loves his new pasture mate and comes happily when called. Photos to follow....
